    Dold Vorde Ens Navn

DOLD VORDE ENS NAVN arose from the murky foundations of the Norwegian black metal scene.
Gathering together members from such legendary acts as Ulver, Dødheimsgard, Satyricon and Ved Buens Ende, the band forged their common vision into a creative outlet where their personal tastes would dictate their musical direction.

This was a project born from artistic intentions, creating a stop-gap between the pillars of traditional black metal and avantgarde rock.

Håvard Jørgensen and Kai S. “Cerberus” Halvorsen started DVEN after a session of shared libations and a passion for creative endeavour. Their pasts intertwined in the ominous second wave of Norwegian black metal that wreaked havoc in the early ’90s.
Håvard had been a member of the death metal outfit ECZEMA, which evolved into SATYRICON, before joining the emerging ULVER in ’93.

Kai had served as a soundengineer at S.R.F. Studio in Oslo, catering to the likes of DIMMU BORGIR, AURA NOIR and VED BUENS ENDE.
The missing pieces of the puzzle were complete, when the founding duo turned to their old comrade and DØDHEIMSGARD frontman, Yusaf ‘Vicotnik’ Parvez, to pen the lyrics for their debut offerings. Vicotnik’s influential presence in the black metal scene has been transformative, his bands embodying the avantgarde essence of the genre.

Helmed by Øyvind Myrvoll, a drummer with a resume to make even the fiercest disciple blush, known from his time in Aura Noir, Ved Buens Ende and Myrkur, and the highly lauded guitarist Morten Aaveren adding to the live sonic attack, DOLD VORDE ENS NAVN unleashed their debut EP, “Gjengangere I Hjertets Mørke”, in 2019. It was a fitting tribute to the tangled web of their youth, but it was only the beginning. Their full-length debut album, “Mørkere“, is a haunting opus that transcends the spiralling darkness. While steeped in the raw fury of 90s black metal, it ushers in a new era of malevolence.
The band exhibits masterful control of their art, commanding the listener’s attention with their gripping mid-paced grooves, and unleashing dramatic climaxes that conjure the forces of the abyss.
The album’s tonal shifts are organic, like a storm brewing on the horizon, that comes to ravage and destroy.
DOLD VORDE ENS NAVN is no mere homage to the past, but a celebration of the present, and a foreboding of what’s to come.
Mørkere” is an offering to the darkness, a testament to their proud heritage that stands on its own, and will stand the test of time. With each composition, they summon the forces of the underworld, forging a new path for black metal that is as sinister as it is breathtaking.
